“Who Wants 20,000?”  is the Georgian adaptation of the globally renowned quiz show format – “who wants to be a millionaire”, challenging contestants with their knowledge and strategy. Produced by Nova Production, the show premiered in 2004, quickly becoming a massive hit among Georgian audiences.

The show followed a familiar yet thrilling format where contestants answered 15 progressively difficult questions, each bringing them closer to the grand prize of 20,000 GEL. With the help of lifelines—50/50, Phone a Friend, and Ask the Audience—players had to think fast and play smart to secure their winnings.

Thanks to its huge success, Who Wants 20,000? became one of Georgia’s most iconic and intellectually engaging game shows. Though its run was limited, it left a lasting impact on Georgian television, setting the standard for quiz shows in the country.
